It is important that we can communicate with you effectively about classes, dance camps, workshops, exams and any other dance related opportunities for the students in the school. Data protection laws have changed and we want to keep you up to date with the steps we have taken specifically around protecting and safeguarding your personal data. On 25th May '18, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect. GDPR imposes additional obligations on organisations and gives you extra rights around how your data is used. We want you to know that The Kildare Academy of Dance respects the information we hold on it's customers and they we take the security of your data very seriously. We have recently updated our Privacy Policy to give you more information on the data we hold and what we do with that data. 

Who we are

At The Kildare Academy of Dance we always strive for excellence and this also applies to the care we take with your personal data. We never sell, rent or share any of your personal data with any other individual or business. In this Privacy Policy we set out how, when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect

Website Data

The Kildare Academy of Dance website does not store or capture any personal information when someone visits it. The system will log your IP address along with other information provided by your browser. This may include the name and version of the browser you are using, your operating system and any website address that referred you to The Kildare Academy of Dance website. This information will only be used for producing anonymous website statistics and will be used to help us with the delivery of the services on the website. We use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. However the system will record personal information if you choose to provide information by filling in a form on our site.

Cookies

When you visit The Kildare Academy of Dance website pages, a small text file called a ‘cookie’, is downloaded onto your computer. This is called a session cookie. This will only remain on your computer until you close your browser (browsers are pieces of software that allow you to access the internet; examples include: Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, etc.). This cookie is not used to identify you personally in any way. We will use this type of cookie to collect aggregated website statistics that allow us to understand how visitors use the site. All the information collected will be anonymous and only used to help us improve the website.

A persistent cookie will be downloaded when you first visit the site. These remain in your browsers cookie store between sessions. This type of cookie will allow us to identify repeat visitors to the site.

Registration Data

When you register yourself or your child(ren) as a student of The Kildare Academy of Dance, in person, by phone or by email, your name, address data, email address, contact phone numbers, students’ names, students’ date of birth, and other personal information relating to the student will be stored on our secure database hosted by Dancebiz. Dancebiz is a secure and GDPR compliant software provider hosted by Thinksmart Software. You can find their privacy policy here: http://www.thinksmartsoftware.com/en-gb/privacy-policy.html. Your personal information is only accessible by the staff of The Kildare Academy of Dance.

Use of your Personal Information

Mailing Lists

When you register as a customer of the The Kildare Academy of Dance, you will be required to provide an email address. This will be our primary method of communication with you. This email address will be stored securely on Dancebiz and we will use it to send information relating to your students’ classes as and when necessary. In addition, we will use this to provide you with information regarding annual registration, new classes, workshops, dance camps, exam information and other relevant dance related opportunities. We hope our communications are always en pointe, however you can always unsubscribe from in house marketing emails by clicking on the link provided at the end of each email. Please be aware should you choose to unsubscribe from our marketing emails we will not be able to communicate this information to you.

Third Party Data Transfer

Your data will not be transferred to any third-party unless this is required for one of the following reasons:

  • In order to fulfil a service ordered and meet our obligations, eg. Exam registration. 

  • Irish law enforcement request, Court order or statutory requirement

  • Merger, acquisition of company or sale of company assets.

 Any such third-party will have similar appropriate data protection policies.

We do not and never shall sell your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Access to your Personal Information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our Data Protection Officer, at officekildaredance@gmail.com. Changes to this Privacy Notice

This privacy policy will be reviewed annually. The last review was 20th August 2019.
